Questions? Visit the Ely Community Center on Wednesdays or contact us at elycommunitycenter@gmail.com
Do I need to be a member to attend activities at the Ely Community Center?
Not always! Some events are open to the public—check the Programs & Activities page for details. Many weekly activities (like card games, walking club, ping pong) are member-led and for members only.
What is the minimum age to be a member?
Membership is open to adults ages 18 and up. However, members are welcome to bring their children to informal gatherings (like coffee meetups or casual playtime in the meeting room), as long as children are supervised at all times and no additional membership is required for them.
Can I use the meeting room for private events as a member?
Membership allows for informal social use of the meeting room when it’s not reserved (ex: card games, coffee with friends, casual gatherings). If you want to host a larger party, meeting, or organized event, please book through our Facility Rental process.
Is this membership for individuals or groups?
Membership is for individuals. It supports casual, member-led use—not for organizational meetings or reserved group activities (TOPS, church groups, etc.).
Can I store personal items at the Community Center?
Yes! Members can store games, puzzles, or small items in the designated meeting room cabinet. Please label your items and keep the space tidy for all to enjoy.
What if I’m not sure if my membership is current?
Check the lookup list posted in the lobby. If you’re not listed or have questions, visit us during open hours—we’re happy to help!
Are there volunteer opportunities for members?
Yes! We love having members pitch in. Opportunities include helping with events like the Blueberry Bazaar Bake Sale, the Annual Membership Luncheon, window washing days, grant writing, planning new activities, running snack stations, and more.
If you'd like to volunteer, please let us know—we welcome the help!
How are membership funds used?
Your $20 annual dues help keep the Center running, support programs, and maintain the space. Thank you for supporting our community!
